Sisters' shows a gentleman escorting a young lady, watched from above, by her sorrowful sister.

Gilbert Scott Wright is a respected sporting and genre painter, many of his paintings are of hunting scenes.

He was  successful in making a living with his paintings, he hardly felt the need to exhibit, as there were eager buyers for his paintings.

Gilbert Scott, is the younger brother of the artist George Wright (1860-1942).

Gilbert Scott Wright was born in Headlingley,  Leeds, Yorkshire, he then lived in London at Germans Road, Forrest Hill, then later in Surrey.

In the 1930's Gilbert Scott Wright's paintings were the subject of the Christmas cards sent by The Princess Royal.

 Gilbert Scott exhibited at the Royal Academy - London.
